Finance Manager
Great opportunity for a commercially astute finance professional to join a large, privately owned business based in East Kent. Reporting to the Finance Director, the purpose of the role is to provide financial counsel to the businesses. As Finance Manager, you will be the primary contact for the relevant divisional team members to support them in adding value to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and publishing timely and accurate monthly management accounts
- Analysing business performance and providing explanations for variances to budget, forecast and prior year
- Leading the annual budget and monthly forecast processes for their area, advising and challenging the tactical and strategic assumptions being made
- Proactively identifying and improving finance and business processes to ensure fast, accurate management information is available
- Maintaining and improving financial control, including maintaining a clean balance sheet for the businesses.
Experience Needed
- Relevant experience in a medium/large organisation (Turnover +£20M) in accounts preparation
- Experience working in a management accountant / finance business partner role
- Multi-site accounting – use of cost / profit centres
- Experience of business partnering multiple stakeholders, including budget holders and operations
- Experience of presenting financial results to business managers
- Experience of responsibility for monitoring and reporting on business performance
- Experience of supervising junior team members, checking work quality and progress, and providing day-to-day support
