Cobb & Jones Recruitment are supporting a growing Kent business in their search for a Management Accountant role for a 12-15 month fixed term contract.  Working collaboratively within the finance team, this role will suit someone who is actively studying towards their accountancy qualification, who aspires to get qualified while learning in a hands-on role. 

Responsibilities Include:

·       Delivery of monthly management accounts and forecasts

·       Preparation of the year end Statutory Financial Statements and group reporting packs. First point of contact for the external auditors.

·       Manage the purchase ledger function ensuring issues are reported to the FD in a timely manner.

·       Ensuring all suppliers are paid on time and remittances are issued.

·       Bank reconciliations.

·       Preparation of quarterly VAT returns.

·       PAYE submissions to HMRC.

·       Managing the company credit cards, uploading statements and approving expense claims, setting up new cards and users.

·       Proactively monitor and review financial controls for breaches and effectiveness. Investigate and propose solutions to possible areas of risk.

·       Produce monthly overhead cost reports, profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and management accounts. Investigate and report upon variances.

·       Build excellent working relationships with operational staff to ensure finance issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.

·       Provide monthly balance sheet back-up and reconciliations.

·       Monthly payroll administration, collating hours worked, running expenses, preparing the files to be sent to our payroll provider.

·    Other duties appropriate to the level of this role, as requested by the Finance Director to assist in the general running of the department.

 

The ideal candidate:

·       ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified or Part Qualified

·       The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a small team.

·       Ability to manage and prioritise own workload and work to specific deadlines.

·       Excellent communication skills, both verbal and through presentation of written data.

·       Proactive approach and able to work independently when required.

·       Competent in the use of computers, specifically Microsoft Excel.
