Are you an experienced finance professional looking to take ownership of a complex, multi-entity environment? You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring robust reporting for a diverse portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Prepare monthly management accounts and deliver accurate financial reporting.

·       Develop and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts for 1–2 years ahead.

·       Present financial updates to the Board monthly.

·       Oversee and review the work of two junior team members (remote).

·       Manage journal postings, accruals, and prepayments.

·       Reconcile wages to payroll and ensure compliance.

·       Review and submit VAT returns and maintain intercompany reconciliations.

·       Ensure group recharges are invoiced correctly across all entities.

·       Prepare statutory accounts, including one consolidation, and handle corporation tax (CT600) filings.

·       Liaise with HMRC and explore group relief options.

·       Maintain loan accounts, interest postings, and the fixed asset register.

·       Reconcile reports from TaxCalc to Xero and manage bank payments as required.

 

Profile:

·       Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.

·       Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, VAT, and corporation tax.

·       Proven experience in multi-entity accounting and consolidations.

·       Advanced skills in Xero and familiarity with TaxCalc (advantageous).

·       Excellent communication skills for executive-level reporting.

·       Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and lead a small team remotely.

·       Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

·       Hybrid working model with flexibility – mostly remote with an expectation of 3-4 days on site per month. Although predominantly remote, we do require someone to be based in Kent.
