Cobb & Jones Recruitment are working with a high-end property developer on an exclusive basis to secure them a new Financial Controller. Due to continued growth, this newly created roe will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations across multiple group companies. You’ll lead on reporting, forecasting, and controls, while supporting strategic decision‑making at senior level. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, review and present financial statements—including P&L and balance sheet—providing insightful analysis, identifying trends, and advising on variances.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead and manage budgeting cycles, creating robust forecasts to support strategic planning.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Strengthen internal controls, ensure accounting standards and legislation are met, and manage audit processes.
- Cash Flow & Operational Finance: Assist with cashflow management, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and other core financial obligations.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop team members, promoting a collaborative and high‑performance culture.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with internal teams and external partners, acting as a key ambassador for the finance function.
- Support Senior Leadership: Deputise for the Finance Director when required.
Profile:
You’ll be a proactive and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and driving efficiency. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment and are confident partnering with stakeholders at all levels.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Property development or construction industry background (essential)
- Professional qualification: CIMA / ACCA / ACA
- Strong leadership, analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- A positive, collaborative approach with the ability to use initiative
- Knowledge of COINS is beneficial, but not essential
