We are partnering with a well-established construction client who are hiring an experienced and detail‑oriented Management Accountant to join their Kent team. This role suits an accounting professional with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience managing both financial reporting and payroll‑related processes. You’ll play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end and quarter‑end activities, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial reports.
· Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, AP, and AR.
· Manage journal postings, general ledger maintenance, and assist with month‑end close.
· Maintain prepayment and accrual schedules, fixed asset records, lease assets, and statutory reporting requirements.
· Support VAT returns, payroll‑related payments (PAYE/NIC/CIS), and other statutory submissions.
· Work closely with leadership to confirm overheads, review financial data, and support annual rate reviews.
· Assist in audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
· Provide payroll support during absence or annual leave cover.
· Support subcontractor payment processing and CIS submissions.
The Ideal Candidate
· ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified – candidates will be considered who are part-qualified or qualified by experience
· Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
· Confident working independently and collaboratively.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· High level of accuracy and ability to multitask effectively.
