A growing division within a well‑established UK group is seeking an Interim Finance Manager for an initial period of up to 6 months. This role is ideal for a proactive, autonomous finance professional who enjoys taking full ownership of the monthly reporting cycle and working closely with operational and commercial stakeholders.

You will be stepping into a hands‑on, varied position with broad exposure across financial processes, business partnering, and continuous improvement. The environment suits someone confident, inquisitive, and able to add value quickly.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce monthly management accounts, performance reports and insightful commentary against Budget, Forecast and Prior Year.
  • Maintain strong balance sheet control, ensuring robust and up‑to‑date reconciliations.
  • Partner with operational managers to prepare and analyse annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Support the external audit process, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting processes, financial controls and ways of working.
  • Provide wider support to the Financial Controller on ad‑hoc projects and business initiatives.

Profile:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) with 4+ years’ management accounting experience, ideally from a product‑led, manufacturing, production, distribution or logistics environment.
  • A confident self‑starter who enjoys taking ownership of reporting cycles and performance analysis.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interrogate systems, challenge data quality and produce meaningful insights.
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and hands‑on to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Excellent communicator who builds relationships easily and collaborates well across functions.
  • A natural problem‑solver who continuously seeks to improve processes, accuracy, efficiency and control.
  • A positive change agent who thrives in environments undergoing improvement or transformation.
