As Finance Manager, you’ll own and improve our finance processes, implement automation solutions, and strengthen internal controls, enabling the business to grow sustainably and operate efficiently. You’ll work closely with central services, including IT, HR, and process administration, as well as senior leadership, to streamline workflows, reduce risk, and provide timely, accurate financial insights.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will serve as the connector between teams, ensuring our reporting, forecasting, and financial planning support better decisions at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement:
· Map, evaluate, and redesign core finance processes (e.g., project cost tracking, supplier payments, month-end close) for efficiency and accuracy.
· Lead ongoing improvement initiatives, integrating lean principles and best practices.
Automation & Systems:
· Identify automation opportunities within current systems, reporting tools, and Excel to reduce manual interventions.
· Configure dashboards, workflows, and macros; liaise with IT/vendor partners on upgrades and integrations.
Financial Controls:
· Develop, document, and enforce internal control frameworks.
· Monitor compliance, perform control testing, and drive remediation plans.
Reporting & Analysis:
· Deliver insightful management reports on project profitability, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
· Advise leadership on cost drivers, process bottlenecks, and control gaps.
Collaboration & Leadership:
· Partner closely with senior Finance, IT, and Central Services to align on system enhancements, data integrity, and process standardisation.
We’re looking for someone who is:
• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), ideally 3+ years PQE
• Strong in Excel and Power BI, and confident in presenting clear financial narratives
• Experienced in management accounts, KPI reporting, and financial control
• Commercially sharp, detail-focused, and proactive
• Collaborative, emotionally intelligent, and ready to grow into a future FC
