We are exclusively representing a well-established UK business seeking an experienced Financial Controller. The organisation operates within a specialist technical/services environment and is looking for a commercially minded finance leader to take ownership of the finance function, drive performance, and support strategic decision-making.

 

Responsibilities

• Maintain and strengthen financial controls across the group.

• Manage and develop a small finance team.

• Oversee budgets, forecasts, cashflow and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Prepare monthly consolidated P&L, balance sheet and management accounts with commentary.

• Lead variance analysis and provide insight to senior management.

• Produce statutory and internal financial reports in a timely manner.

• Review cost structures and identify efficiency opportunities.

• Manage cash, treasury, banking and foreign exchange.

• Oversee statutory returns and company insurance portfolios.

• Lead the year-end audit.

 

The Successful Candidate

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).

• Experienced in financial control, management reporting.

• Capable of managing and developing a small finance team.

• Highly proficient with Excel and confident with accounting systems.

• Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Detail-focused, proactive and able to influence stakeholders effectively.
