An established and growing organisation is seeking an organised and detail‑focused Accounts Assistant to support its busy finance function. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys transactional finance, thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is looking to develop their career within a supportive team.

 

This position plays a central part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily finance operations and contributing to smooth month‑end processes. If you're proactive, methodical and keen to build on your finance experience, this is a strong opportunity to take the next step.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Accounts Payable & Processing

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean and well‑organised purchase ledger with correct coding and approvals.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support stock‑related invoicing and Art Marketing purchase ledger tasks.
  • Ensure invoices are sent for authorisation within agreed SLAs.

Bank & Cash Management

  • Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations, including Elavon and main trading accounts.
  • Process credit card transfers and ensure all postings are accurate.
  • Assist with factoring postings, reconciliations and cash movement monitoring.

Expenses & Credit Cards

  • Process employee expenses and company credit card returns.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and policy compliance.
  • Reconcile credit card accounts and resolve queries.

Intercompany & Transactional Support

  • Prepare intercompany reconciliations and recharge postings.
  • Assist with intercompany invoicing and balance monitoring.
  • Support FOB invoicing and maintain the FOB tracker.
  • Provide general support for stock‑related processing and reconciliations.

Month-End Support

  • Assist with month‑end close tasks, including accrual preparation.
  • Ensure all transactional postings are complete ahead of deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet support documentation.

Admin & Operational Support

  • Manage stationery and office supply orders.
  • Maintain shared finance inboxes, ensuring timely responses.
  • Support system housekeeping tasks and general finance admin.
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance across the finance team as needed.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be:

  • Experienced in transactional finance, particularly accounts payable or similar.
  • Highly organised, accurate and confident working with numbers.
  • Comfortable handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • A clear communicator who enjoys working collaboratively.
  • Proactive, reliable and eager to develop professionally.
  • Familiar with accounting systems and basic reconciliations.
