We are recruiting exclusively on behalf of our client for a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting career within a fast-paced commercial environment, working closely with senior finance stakeholders and supporting key financial reporting and business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports for senior stakeholders and management.
  • Maintain prepayments, accruals, fixed assets and supporting reconciliations.
  • Support VAT returns and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Process payroll submissions, statutory filings and related reconciliations.
  • Manage supplier invoices, payments and account reconciliations.
  • Provide support across accounts receivable and accounts payable functions when required.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation and external reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to finance system enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support ongoing ERP and finance transformation projects. 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
  • Progress towards a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
  • Strong month-end, reconciliation and financial reporting experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with Power BI experience beneficial.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively in a high-performance, fast-paced environment.
