Our client is a successful business seeking a Finance Administrator to join their small finance team in Mid Kent. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a professional manner, and be reliable and detail oriented.
The Finance Administrator will support daily finance operations, ensuring transactions are processed accurately, records are maintained, and administrative tasks are completed efficiently, helping to keep the finance function running smoothly.
This role is office-based Monday – Friday, with the possibility of 1 day from home after probation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the day-to-day financial and administrative activities of the Finance department.
· Process and maintain accurate financial records and transactions in line with company procedures.
· Assist with daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations, ensuring any discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
· Review and verify funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
· Support payment processing and general account administration.
· Monitor bank account activity and investigate any exceptions.
· Assist with month-end processes, including reconciliations, journals and reporting activities.
· Prepare and maintain financial spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Excel.
· Respond to internal and external finance queries in a professional and timely manner.
· Support the wider Finance team with ad hoc finance and administrative tasks as required.
· Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and financial controls.
· Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have:
· Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
· Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
· Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
· High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential financial information.
