Interim Finance Analyst / Systems Accountant | 3-Month Contract | Immediate Start | (Hybrid/Flexibility Offered)

Are you a commercially minded Finance Analyst, Financial Modeller or Systems Accountant who thrives on improving systems, enhancing reporting and driving better business decisions?

We're partnering with a respected and purpose-driven organisation, to recruit a talented interim finance professional for a high-impact 3-month assignment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys getting under the skin of finance systems, transforming management information and helping organisations maximise the value of their technology investments.

This role would suit a dynamic individual with a strong blend of finance, systems and analytical expertise, who can quickly assess current processes, identify improvements and deliver practical solutions from day one.

The Opportunity

Following the implementation of a new finance system, the organisation is seeking an experienced finance professional to optimise reporting, strengthen forecasting capabilities and improve the user experience across the finance function.

You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, helping to embed best practice, enhance reporting outputs and ensure the finance system is delivering meaningful, actionable insights to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and redesign existing Excel-based management reports, migrating and enhancing reporting.
  • Develop and improve forecasting models, management reporting and financial statements.
  • Utilise forecasting tools to support scenario planning and financial analysis.
  • Evaluate how finance users are interacting with the system and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Document current processes and recommend improvements to controls, reporting and workflows.
  • Create and implement finance systems best practice guidance and standardised ways of working.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, reporting quality and operational efficiency.

About You

We're keen to hear from professionals who can combine strong accounting knowledge with exceptional systems and analytical capability.

You will likely be:

  • An experienced Finance Analyst, Systems Accountant, Financial Modeller or Finance Systems Specialist.
  • Advanced in Excel, including modelling, complex formulae, lookups, pivots and large data manipulation.
  • Highly comfortable working across ERP and finance systems, with experience of platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, NetSuite, Access Financials or similar.
  • Skilled in analysing complex datasets and translating financial requirements into practical systems solutions.
  • Naturally curious, detail-oriented and driven by continuous improvement.

Experience with Power BI, SQL, automation tools, finance transformations or system implementations would be particularly advantageous.
