We are partnering with a highly respected business, who are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team.

 

The Role

·       As Assistant Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the preparation, analysis and reporting of financial information that helps the wider management team with strategic planning, budgeting and cost control.

·       Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you'll work closely with the Senior Management Accountants, contributing to the smooth running of month-end, year-end and audit processes, while helping to drive efficiency and best practice across the finance function.

 

Key Responsibilities

·       Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts for overseas subsidiaries, including intercompany, bank, sales and purchase ledger reconciliations, and posting of prepayments, accruals and fixed asset journals.

·       Support the Group Financial Controller with month-end tasks at group level, including balance sheet reconciliations where required.

·       Support the preparation of financial statements and reports that provide insight into business performance, including monitoring and reporting on business expenses.

·       Ensure the accuracy of financial transactions in line with accounting policies and relevant regulations.

·       Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT, Intrastat and other statutory reporting for EU countries, liaising with external accounting and tax advisors to ensure full compliance.

·       Contribute to the preparation of year-end audit files, ensuring documentation is accurate and readily available.

·       Work with the wider finance team to identify and implement process improvements across the group.

·       Support the Group Financial Controller with ad-hoc duties as required.

 

What We're Looking For

·       Previous experience in a similar management accounting or finance role.

·       AAT Level 4 qualified (minimum), with active study towards ACCA or CIMA.

·       Confident working with ERP systems and processes.

·       Strong Excel skills.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·       A proactive, adaptable approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

·       Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

·       High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
