Please note this role requires 2 days in the North Kent office and UK wide travel when required.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Industrial Relations, you will play a key role in delivering expert employment relations advice and supporting a wide range of employee and industrial relations matters.

The position combines complex casework, stakeholder management, governance support, policy development and advisory responsibilities. You will work with a broad range of employers and employee representatives, helping to navigate workplace challenges and achieve positive outcomes through consultation, conciliation and mediation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing advice on employment law and employee relations matters
  • Supporting disciplinary, grievance, capability and dispute cases
  • Preparing reports, briefing papers and committee documentation
  • Monitoring employment legislation and policy developments
  • Assisting with negotiations and stakeholder discussions
  • Delivering presentations and guidance to members and regional groups
  • Supporting organisational projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Building strong relationships across a diverse stakeholder network

About You

We are keen to hear from candidates with experience in employee relations, industrial relations, HR or employment law environments.

You may currently be working as an:

  • Employee Relations Advisor or Manager
  • HR Manager
  • HR Business Partner
  • Industrial Relations Advisor
  • Employment Law Advisor
  • Trade Union Official or Representative
  • ACAS or Mediation Professional

You will ideally have:

  • Experience managing disciplinary, grievance and employee relations cases
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities
  • The confidence to work with stakeholders at all levels
  • A balanced, impartial and pragmatic approach
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
