Cobb & Jones Recruitment are partnering with a well-established and highly respected care organisation. Due to continued growth and development, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to join their Head Office team in Faversham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to play a key role within a busy payroll function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of multiple payrolls while supporting process improvements, reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

The Role

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Analyst will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of monthly and four-weekly payrolls, maintaining payroll data integrity, managing pensions and benefits administration, and supporting payroll reporting and audits.

The successful candidate will work closely with Payroll, Finance, and HR colleagues to ensure payroll activities are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with current legislation.

Key Responsibilities

· Process monthly and four-weekly payrolls accurately and within agreed deadlines.

· Maintain employee payroll records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

· Keep up to date with payroll legislation, pension requirements, and HMRC regulations.

· Manage pension administration and employee benefits schemes.

· Administer the company's life assurance scheme through payroll data.

· Support employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, compliance checks, and right-to-work administration.

· Respond to employee queries relating to pay, tax, pensions, and benefits.

· Work alongside HR teams to improve recruitment, absence management, and payroll processes.

· Complete payroll reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

· Assist with nominal ledger postings and payroll-related financial reporting.

· Support year-end processes and payroll audits.

· Produce payroll reports and cost analysis.

· Assist with statutory and internal reporting requirements.

Internal Audit Responsibilities

· Conduct internal payroll audits across service locations.

· Document findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

· Provide audit feedback and reporting to Payroll and Finance leadership teams.

· Monitor compliance and identify opportunities for process improvement.

About You

· A minimum of 5 years' payroll experience within a busy payroll environment.

· CIPP Level 3 qualification with ongoing professional development.

· Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, pensions, and HMRC requirements.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups and conditional formulas.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Strong communication skills with the confidence to work across multiple departments.

· Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.

· A highly organised and detail-oriented approach.

· Experience using Workforce and Staffology software would be advantageous.

· Previous payroll audit experience would be beneficial.

· Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

· Ability to successfully complete a DBS check.
