Reporting to: CFO

The opportunity

A well-established, multi-business group is looking for a Data Analyst to join its transformation team and help the business make better, faster decisions with its data.

Reporting to the CFO, you will work across finance, procurement, operations, commercial and IT, turning large and complex datasets into clear reporting and insight. You will build Power BI dashboards, standardise reporting across the finance function, and handle data requests from the CEO and Board.

It will suit an analyst who enjoys variety, is comfortable working with senior stakeholders, and wants to be part of a group-wide transformation programme rather than maintaining someone else's reports.

What you'll be doing

  • Collect, cleanse and interpret large datasets from the group's data lake and other source systems
  • Develop interactive dashboards and visualisations in Power BI
  • Work with the CFO and finance function to deliver efficiencies and improve reporting by standardising templates, working papers and reports
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to gather requirements for dashboard reporting
  • Analyse data to identify trends and patterns that support decision-making and highlight opportunities for process improvement
  • Support the CEO and Board with ad hoc data requests

About you

Essential

  • At least three years' experience in a similar data analyst role
  • Proven experience in data analysis, with strong SQL skills
  • Advanced Excel and Power BI
  • Excellent computer literacy across the Microsoft suite
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident communicating at all levels including senior leadership
  • Personable and approachable, with a curiosity to learn and understand different areas of the business
  • Willing to go the extra mile around key project delivery deadlines

Desirable

  • A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
  • Experience working with ERP and industry-specific operational systems
  • Experience in a project-led or asset-intensive environment, such as construction, property, engineering, manufacturing or industrial services
